Getting your player ready...

Monday-Sept. 26: As a branding exercise, Lego Week is a fairly straightforward one, inviting kids to engage with the pervasive colorful blocks via building contests and other themed activities at various Denver Public Library branches. It’s also a clever trick for getting kids into libraries in general, with a “Wild About Books” theme that plays into a current exhibit at the Denver Zoo. The thrust is simple: Build an eye-catching entry that resembles a pet or favorite zoo animal, and win tickets to the Denver Zoo (and other prizes). Branches are holding on-site building and craft activities, including kickoff parties with games and snacks. Visit for a full list of the free, metro-area events that run Sept. 21-26.
