Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield Corn Maze (Sept. 18-Nov. 1, weekends)
Get a group together and get your corn maze on — there is absolutely no question that you will be lost in this 8-acre field at some point. Bring snacks. Bonus: Tickets ($13) include a hayride and, here it is, unlimited jumping on a giant pillow. Funnel cakes and kettle corn from vendors round out a solid stoney time.
If you’re feeling the haunted thing, check out the Dead Zone ($25), which also includes the corn maze and the haunted house Reapers Ranch. Later weekends offer “Blackout Maze,” where you have to find your way using a light stick. Good luck.
10 Ways to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse (Sept. 19)
We’re still three weeks away from Season 6 of “The Walking Dead,” and while “Fear the Walking Dead” has its merits, itap taking a while for sufficient zombie action. In the meantime, this makes it feel as though an apocalypse is impending.
Find out what to do if it happens at “10 Ways to Survive the Zombie Apolcalypse,” a hike through Boulder Open Space (billed as “moderate”) with scenes of the show — some funny, some creepy — performed along the way. The first piece of advice is to sacrifice the weak, so if you can’t handle this level of activity, be very afraid. Tickets: $20.
Get the Led Out (Sept. 24)
Those of us who started smoking pot in the late ’70s got stoned and then listened to albums, usually over and over: Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, the Grateful Dead, Black Sabbath. Then, somewhat nonsensical arguments would start about which band was the best high. Itap hard to imagine anything better than “Dark Side of the Moon,” but it was soooo mellow (except for “Time,” hello!). Sometimes you need something more rousing, and thatap “Physical Graffiti.”
