Colorado Springs police are investigating a shooting early Tuesday that left a dog wounded and an apartment building damaged.

The shooting happened about 3 a.m. on the 3000 block of Starlight Circle.

“When officers arrived on scene, they discovered that two rear sliding glass doors were damaged at two separate addresses,” police said in a news release. “They also discovered that a dog was struck twice, once in the left side and in the front left paw.”

Investigators found six shell casings at the scene.

“Officers also discovered that two rounds went through the front window of one apartment and three more rounds struck the building,” the release said.

Police say they have no suspect or vehicle information and that their investigation is ongoing.
