Investigators combed the area outside a Denver gas station and car wash on Tuesday afternoon after a shooting left three people injured.
Three male victims were transported to an area hospital with gunshot wounds after an afternoon shooting at a Conoco gas station at 35th Street and Downing Street, said Denver police spokesman Doug Schepman.
Two of the men were adults and the third victim’s age is still being verified, Schepman said.
The victims’ — whose relationship to each other is unknown — had unknown conditions as of 6 p.m.
Police do not have suspect information, a vehicle description or possible motive for the crime.
Gang unit vehicles lined the premises that was cordoned off by police tape.
Police did not know whether the shooting was gang-related, Schepman said.
Evidence markers could be seen set up in front of the gas station door, and police were snapping photos inside a car wash on the same lot.
Saudy Barrientos lives a few places down from the gas station and said she thinks this is the third shooting to happen in the area within the last six months.
“I normally feel safe, but now I’m starting to get scared.”
Barrientos said there is always a lot of activity at the Conoco station.
Schepman said police are trying to piece together the crime and keep the community up to date.
“We had a shooting here, and suspects who are unaccounted for, so that’s obviously concerning for us,” he said.
This is a developing story that will be updated as more information becomes available.
