Republican presidential candidates Ben Carson and Donald Trump take part in the presidential debates at the Reagan Library on Sept. 16 in Simi Valley, California (Justin Sullivan, Getty Images)
Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson recently said a Muslim wouldn’t make a good president because his or her views would be in conflict with the Constitution. Additionally, a questioner at a Donald Trump rally stated that Muslims are a problem in our country, and Trump didn’t disagree. Really? While I’m a Christian, we are not a country built on Christianity. We are built on religious freedom. Maybe Carson and Trump should spend less time spreading their hate, bigotry and intolerance and more time reading a history book.
I hope the country wakes up and makes sure neither of these two becomes our leader.
