Dance: Cleo Parker and Twyla Tharp mark milestones

Through Sunday A pair of nationally renowned dance icons are celebrating anniversary seasons this year, and both are in Denver this weekend. Colorado’s own Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble will mark the start of its 45th season with performances of “Bamboula: Musician’s Brew,” a collaborative piece commissioned through the National Endowment for the Arts, at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 26 and 2 p.m. Sept. 27, both at the Newman Center, 2344 E. Iliff Ave. $32-$45, . Also landing this weekend is Twyla Tharp’s 50th anniversary tour, which includes a 7:30 p.m. show at the Newman Center on Sept. 25. Tickets for the award-winning, New York-based choreographer’s Dance Foundation (also at CU-Boulder’s Macky Auditorium Sept. 27) are $23-$63. .
