Denver prosecutors have charged a man and a woman in the robbery of an Uber driver last year.
Wenston Williams, 50, and Kimberly Kovinchick, 32, face allegations of assault and aggravated robbery in the Dec. 31, 2014, holdup.
Williams also faces three counts of possession of a weapon by a previous offender, prosecutors say.
“Williams and Kovinchick met the victim, a 55-year-old man working as an Uber driver, near 33rd Avenue and Ivanhoe Street and then robbed him at knifepoint,” Denver’s District Attorneys Office said in a news release.
Authorities say Kovinchick was identified as a suspect soon after the robbery and arrested earlier this year. She is due in court for arraignment next month.
Williams was arrested earlier this week and remains in custody in lieu of $50,000 bond. He is due in court Monday to be formally advised of the charges against him.
