Adams County prosecutors have charged a 33-year-old man with 34 counts in a Westminster this month that caused more than $100,000 in damage.

Christopher Edward Meyer is suspected in the Sept. 6 blaze at the Sky View Apartments and faces allegation of criminal mischief and 33 counts of fourth-degree arson.

When Meyer started the fire, he “placed the 33 individuals in danger of death or serious bodily injury,” prosecutors said Thursday in a news release.

Meyer was a resident of the complex, authorities say. Prosecutors did not say what they believe motivated Meyer to start the blaze.

He is next due in court Nov. 3 for a preliminary hearing.
