After helping his team on a goal-line inside the final minute on Thursday night that preserved a 27-24 victory in the Class 5A Front Range League on the road against Poudre in Fort Collins, Fairview’s Carlo Kemp has headed to Michigan for a recruiting visit over the weekend.
The 6-foot-3, 255-pounder, a linebacker in serious demand nationally — including by the University of Colorado — was more than excited, yet wasn’t exactly sure what the process would entail. It’s the first of his five official visits.
“My guess is academics, the facilities, maybe the dorms … anything I would encounter the next four years,” said Kemp, an All-Colorado selection by The Denver Post.
Then, of course, he’ll be in attendance for the Wolverines game on Saturday against BYU.
One thing recruits most enjoy on their trips is checking out the game and envisioning themselves playing there soon.
“I know it’s going to be exciting,” Kemp said.
