One man is dead and another in the hospital after shots broke out at two separate locations in Aurora early Sunday, police said.
Police responded to a 2:35 a.m. report of shots fired at 348 Potomac Way, and found a man who had been shot in the parking lot of the Canterra at Fitzsimons Apartments.
He died later at University Hospital, according to a release.
At 3:57 a.m., a man called 911 saying he had been shot. Officers found him in the area of E. 13th Avenue and E. Richtofen Circle. The man was transported to University Hospital and is expected to survive.
At this time it is unknown if the two shootings are related. Detectives from the Major Crimes/Homicide Unit are investigating both incidents. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
