Aurora police are investigating a shooting that left one man in serious condition early Monday morning not far from where two men were shot a day earlier.
A family member drove the victim to University Hospital for treatment. The adult man is in serious condition, said Sgt. Christopher Amsler, an Aurora police spokesman.
The victim was accosted by three young Hispanic males as he walked to his car at 5:38 a.m. in the Chambers Heights Neighborhood on the 14500 block of East 13th Avenue, Amsler said.
One of the three suspects shot the victim. The three suspects fled in a dark-colored car, he said.
No suspect has been arrested. Police are investigating the motive of the shooting.
Police do not believe the Monday morning shooting is linked to two Aurora shootings that left one man dead and another injured. No suspects have been arrested in those shootings either, Amsler said.
Police responded at 2:35 a.m. Sunday to a report of shots fired at 348 Potomac Way. They found a wounded man in the parking lot of the Canterra at Fitzsimons Apartments.
He died later at University Hospital, according to a news release. The man’s name has not been released.
At 3:57 a.m. Sunday, a man called 911 saying he had been shot. Officers found him in the area of East 13th Avenue and East Richthofen Circle.
