1 Ex-girlfriend scapegoated. A man told police his front door in the 5800 block of Wadsworth Boulevard, Arvada, was unexpectedly kicked in Sept. 12. He told an elaborate but shifting story of his ex-girlfriend being the culprit. Police confirmed the woman had been in Thornton all day and the case was declared inactive.

2 Those crazy kids. Police ticketed a woman Sept. 11 in the 5500 block of Garrison Street, Arvada, for eluding police. A car registered to her had earlier sped away from a police officer; the woman said she was asleep at the time but said maybe some “crazy teenage kids” were behind the crime.

3 Teens busted. Police were called to McIlvoy Park at 5750 Upham St. in Arvada on Sept. 11 on reports of intoxicated juveniles throwing up behind the portable toilets. Police found brass knuckles, two pocket knives and a marijuana pipe on a 19-year-old male, who was ticketed.

4 7-Eleven brawl. A woman attacked her boyfriend’s sister Sept. 16 in the parking lot of 7-Eleven at 7355 W. 58th Ave. in Arvada. She was later arrested on three outstanding warrants and charged with harassment.

5 Nice try. A man pulled over for lack of visible registration on Sept. 10 got off his scooter and placed a small case in a nearby trash can in the 6400 block of Miller Street, Arvada. Police later found a meth pipe and baggie with drug residue inside the case. The man was arrested on an outstanding warrant and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
