1 Cigarette flick causes fight. Two men got into a fist fight in a parking lot in the 500 block of Oakwood Drive, Castle Rock, just after 1 a.m. Sept. 5 after one of them flicked a lit cigarette at the other, who deemed it “disrespectful.” Police intercepted the cigarette flicker riding in a car leaving the scene with blood on his face. The incident started when that man came to pick up keys from his ex- girlfriend who is now staying with the other combatant.

2 Carted away. A woman was loading groceries into her car in the parking lot of Super- Target, 1265 Sgt. John Stiles Drive, Highlands Ranch, on Sept. 17 when she realized her wallet had vanished from the top part of her cart. Credit cards and $340 cash were inside.

3 No free rides. A Highlands Ranch man placed an online ad seeking work as a driver. A man asked him to take his grandmother to doctor’s appointments. The latter sent the former a check in the mail for $1,250.65 The man took the check to his bank when he learned it was fake. (Not on map.)

4 Breaking dawn. A woman living in the 11000 block of West Mesa Run in Roxborough Park said she was driving by the subdivision guard shack just after 6 a.m. Sept. 17 when she heard a loud crack. Later, she opened her sun roof to find it had been shattered.

5 Sawed off. A contractor working on a home in the 8000 block of North Sunburst Trail, Douglas County said his $500 table saw went missing from inside the home sometime between Sept. 12 and 14. The garage door had been left unlocked.
