Vikings at Broncos, 2:25 p.m. Sunday, KDVR-31

Vikings’ record: 2-1, with victories over Detroit and San Diego.

Last game: The Vikings pummeled the Chargers 31-14 on Sunday. Running back Adrian Peterson ran around and through San Diego linebackers to the tune of 126 yards on 20 carries and two touchdowns.

Who’s hot: Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen made 1½ sacks of Phillip Rivers, marking Griffen’s third consecutive game on the sack stat sheet. He’s the Vikings’ best pass rusher.

Who’s not: The Vikings’ passing attack. Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is asked simply not to make mistakes. He averages 168 yards passing per game.

Key stat: Peterson leads the NFL in rushing with 291 yards. His 4.9-yards-per-carry average is third in the NFL among running backs with at least 25 carries this season.

FYI: The last time these two teams played, the Broncos beat the Vikings 35-32 at Minnesota on Dec. 4, 2011. The quarterbacks in that game — Tim Tebow and Christian Ponder — are out of the NFL.

Injury report: The Vikings lost three starters Sunday: Cornerback Xavier Rhodes suffered a concussion after a scary second-quarter hit, receiver Charles Johnson left the game early after experiencing pain and stiffness in his ribs, and safety Andrew Sendejo injured his leg.

Coachspeak: “With these great quarterbacks, the more they’re under duress, the more difficult it is for them.” — Mike Zimmer, Vikings coach, to ESPN after Sunday’s game
