Pitkin County authorities have identified a 41-year-old Kentucky man while climbing near Aspen.
Travis Boyle, of Union, Ky., was climbing Christiana Peak, in the Capitol Peak area, when he fell.
“The manner of death was accident and cause of death is pending investigation results,” the county coroner’s office said in a news release.
The Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office says they were alerted to Boyle’s fall just before 6 p.m. Monday from another climber in the area, which is west of Aspen. Rescuers reached Boyle roughly two hours later, finding him dead.
