
1 Freak out in Olde Town. Police spent almost two hours looking for a man who called dispatch, said his name was Freddy and that he was carrying a .357 revolver in Olde Town Arvada on Sept. 18. The man then threatened to kill two people with a socket wrench and pulled a knife on officers. He was taken down and tried to smash the window of a police cruiser after his arrest.
2 Cigarette run ends in crash. An early morning cigarette run Sept. 18 ended for the driver of a blue Chevy Trailblazer when he lost control of the vehicle, smashed into a parked car and came to rest in the front yard of a home in the 6200 block of Zinnia Street, Arvada. The man admitted to taking unprescribed Xanax and was arrested for driving under the influence.
3 Cops nab burglar. A burglar broke into a home in the 11100 block of West 62nd Avenue, Arvada, on Sept. 18 and assaulted the homeowner with a wood handrail. Police found and arrested the suspect, who admitted to breaking into another home that same evening.
4 Vehicle theft caps day. The owner of a white Ford F350 returned home to the 5800 block of Urban Street in Arvada on Sept. 17 to find the vehicle had been stolen while he was at work.
5 Consensual contact leads to arrest. A police officer noticed a pedestrian acting suspicious near the area of West 55th Avenue and Quay Street in Arvada on Sept. 18. The woman gave the officer a false name and it was discovered she had an outstanding warrant and a methamphetamine pipe in her belongings. She was arrested on multiple charges.
