Wednesday afternoon, Colorado Republican Committee Chairman Steve House announced Ryan Lynch will be the state party’s new executive director, as well as its political director.
“Ryan has a demonstrated track record of performance in working for candidates and within the party structure,” House said in a statement. “This makes him a big asset to our party and our candidates. He has deep roots in our state and a broad range of relationships across it.”
Lynch’s hiring appears to bring to a close an issue that roiled the state party last summer. Some party leaders, including former U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo, sought House’s resignation, allegedly because he a strong conservative from Highlands Ranch who in 2011, as executive director. House survived the conflict.
Lynch was the deputy campaign manager and political director for Bob Beauprez’s run for governor last year and was an adviser to Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker’s presidential campaign. Like Walker, Lynch is a Colorado Springs native.
“We are heading into a critical election year, one that will decide the direction of our state and nation,” Lynch stated. “Itap imperative that the Party continues reaching out to county leaders, elected officials, candidates and volunteers to ensure we elect Republicans up and down the ticket in 2016. I’m thankful that Chairman House has entrusted me with this opportunity.”
Lynch already had been working with the state party on a programs to raise money, improve data and infrastructure; and support county parties in preparation for next year’s election.
“Ryan knows exactly what our Party needs to accomplish in the next few months,” House said. “We are fortunate to have someone of his caliber willing to help lead our party forward.”
