Greeley police said Wednesday a 34-year-old man has also died.
Wyatt Richard Nykamp died Monday as a result of critical injuries he sustained in the Oct. 2 wreck at the intersection of U.S. 85 and 8th Street.
“Nykamp remained in critical condition since (the crash) and did not regain consciousness,” police said. “The investigation continues to be active at this time and forensic results have not been returned.”
Riley Young, 17, was killed after the vehicle he was driving was hit by Nykamp’s car.
Young’s father, 44-year-old James Young, who was a passenger in the vehicle his son was driving, was critically injured.
Police say an officer tried to pull Nykamp over on 8th Street after he allegedly ran a red light.
Nykamp allegedly sped away reaching speeds estimated at 80 mph even though the officer did not give chase. Nykamp then slammed into the Youngs’ vehicle.
Riley Young was pronounced dead at the scene.
Nykamp had been charged in the crash with vehicular homicide, vehicular assault, eluding, reckless driving, driving under revocation and running a red light.
