FORT COLLINS — Several issues related to the state’s oil and gas industry will be explored at the fifth annual Colorado State University on Oct. 27-28 at the Lory Student Center.
Organizers say the symposium, which is free and open to the public, will present balanced views on the latest research and innovations from nearly 40 speakers from CSU and around the nation.
Fred Krupp, president of the Environmental Defense Fund, will deliver the keynote lecture focusing on cutting methane emissions. Krupp will speak at 6 p.m. Oct. 27 in the third-floor ballroom of the Lory Student Center.
The agenda opens earlier that day with Natural Gas 101, an overview that will include three panel discussions about the basics of air, water, emission controls, industry best practices, geology and drilling, including hydraulic fracturing.
The second day will include sessions on clean air and water; conflicts between state and federal policies; and workplace safety.
The sessions also will be live-streamed. For more information or to register, go to .
