A Seattle-bound Southwest Airlines flight returned to Denver International Airport shortly after takeoff Friday night after a smoke smell was reported in the cabin.

Flight 541 took off about 7 p.m. and returned to Denver about 20 minutes later, said Heath Montgomery, an airport spokesman.

Denver firefighters investigated the aircraft and found no evidence of smoke or fire, Montgomery said.

Passengers were being put on another flight.
