El Paso County authorities on Monday identified the 53-year-old woman wounded in a shooting early that also left a man dead.
Margaret Temple, who was shot in the head, is in good condition and is expected to make a full recovery, the county sheriff’s office said in a news release.
Investigators say Temple was shot by 59-year-old Maxwell Garihan after long-standing domestic issues between the two.
Temple and Garihan were in the process of getting divorced, officials say. The sheriff’s office said Temple had taken out a restraining order against Garihan but that the order had not been served.
Garrihan was arrested late Friday on suspicion of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder in the shootings. The county sheriff’s office says he was taken into custody at 8 p.m. by the FBI.
The county sheriff’s office identified the man slain in the shooting on the 4100 block of Bobbie Kay Place as 57-year-old Alan Havens. Investigators say Havens was shot in the head.
A dog was also killed in the shooting.
