1 Man caught doing his business. A staff member of the Montessori School of Evergreen, 29740 Troutdale Scenic Drive, reported Oct. 6 that staff had seen a man possibly defecating near a tree near the school. When police searched the area, they found the man, who admitted to the action and thought nobody could see him. He also said he was homeless and camping nearby. He was trespassed from the area.
2 Only some currency stolen. Golden police reported to a burglary at Gold-N-Detectors, 802 Washington Ave., on Oct. 3. The owner showed police where a thief broke into his office through a front window and knocked over a lava lamp. An unknown number of silver coins were missing from an unlocked safe, but other currency was left untouched. The police took the lava lamp to their lab for fingerprinting.
3 Suspect Googled it. A resident of the 2000 block of Richmond Hill Road, Conifer, (not on map) reported Oct. 5 that two tires were stolen from his yard. The man had numerous tires in his yard and advertised some on Craigslist. He suspected someone who contacted him already knowing his address. Police contacted the suspect, who said he did not steal the tires and simply found the man’s address on the internet. There were no other suspects.
4 Tires slashed. A resident of the 9000 block of Eagle Cliff Road, Conifer, reported Oct. 7 that all four tires on his truck had been slashed. He mentioned neighbors who were unhappy about events hosted on his property, but he did not want to pursue investigation and risk agitating them further.
