A hit-and-run incident in Denver left one person seriously injured Wednesday evening, officials said.

A susect vehicle was stopped a little over two hours later.

The two-vehicle crash took place at Mississippi Avenue and Clay Street, according to the Denver Police Department.

Westbound Mississippi Avenue was closed at Clay Street by the incident, which happened at about 5:40 p.m.

At about 8 p.m. the Denver Police Department said on Twitter that a suspect vehicle had been found and that one person was in custody.
