Denver is installing a temporary cab stand on Friday and Saturday nights at 20th and Blake streets in an effort to provide better access for rides home out of Lower Downtown.
The stand opens Friday, Oct. 23, and will operate regularly from 11 p.m.-3 a.m. on both weekend nights for the next year. The existing cab stand at 14th and Market streets will remain and operate at the same hours.
Denver Police, Public Works and Excise and Licenses worked with local cab companies to open the stand. For more information contact Metro Taxi headquarters at 303-336-9000.
“Drinking and driving is dangerous for our entire community,” Denver Police Chief Robert White said in a news release. “The city of Denver partnering with the taxicab companies to have the stand available is a smart collaboration to ensure our citizens have easier access to a safe and responsible ride home.”
