Getting your player ready...

Offensive tackle Ty Sambrailo is still battling his shoulder injury that kept him out of the Broncos’ last three games. His status for Sunday night’s game versus Green Bay is up in the air.

“Tomorrow is a big test for him,” coach Gary Kubiak said after Sambrailo was a limited participant in practice Wednesday.

Sambrailo said most of the pain had subsided on Oct. 19. Kubiak said Monday that Sambrailo would be the starter if he was ready to go.

The last time we saw the line it was Ryan Harris at left tackle and Michael Schofield at right tackle. If Sambrailo is unable to go, the Broncos would likely go with the same group up front.

Injury update

The only Broncos player to miss practice Wednesday was outside linebacker Shane Ray (sprained MCL).

Ray said he felt his knee buckle after his ankle got locked in under an offensive linemen, but was overall optimistic about the outcome.

“I’m 22, I heal fast,” he said. “It’s all about being ready for the long haul run.”

Along with Sambrailo, outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware (back), guard Evan Mathis, cornerback Aqib Talib (ankle) and receiver Emmanuel Sanders (shoulder) were all limited participants at practice, but are expected to play Sunday.

Quarterback Peyton Manning practiced Wednesday skipping his typical rest day.

Special appearances

Former Broncos quarterback Jake Plummer was in attendance for practice Wednesday.

“He’s still the Snake,” Kubiak said. “There wasn’t a better teammate I saw.”

Plummer and Kubiak spent three years together from 2003-05 when Kubiak was the offensive coordinator in his first Broncos stint.

Former Broncos receivers Rod Smith and Ed McCaffrey also stopped by practice, as well.
