A 4-year-old boy who was in the back of an SUV stolen from a Longmont gas station at 6:20 a.m. Wednesday is reportedly safe after he was abandoned along with the vehicle while the suspect fled with police in pursuit, according to police.After taking a red 2008 Ford Edge from the Bradley gas station at 1750 Main St. the carjacker -- identified by Longmont police as Ryan Stone -- stole two other vehicles before being arrested at 8:07 a.m. in Lone Tree, after a short foot pursuit near Peoria Avenue and Lincoln Boulevard.The Ford Edge headed out of Longmont and south on Interstate 25 at dangerously high speeds and got off the highway at Thornton Parkway, according to video footage provided by a 7NEWS television helicopter.

The man who led police on a dangerous car chase that was broadcast on live television will be sentenced on Friday.

Ryan Stone, 30, is scheduled to be sentenced in Douglas County District Court. In April, Stone was including and first-degree assault.

A Douglas County jury convicted Stone for his part in a 2014 chase during which he hit state . The trooper tried to deploy a device to deflate tires on Stone’s vehicle.

Stone reached speeds of 100 mph during the 90-minute chase. He stole an SUV — carrying a 4-year-old boy buckled into a car seat — from a Longmont gas station. Stone before the chase was over and left the scene of multiple accidents.

The jury also found Stone guilty of leaving the scene of the accident, robbery, child abuse and motor vehicle theft. He was found not guilty of one count of second-degree kidnapping and one count of attempted robbery.

Stone faces 64 to 100 years in prison.

The sentencing hearing is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. in front of District Court Judge Paul King.
