
1 Found wallet leads to arrest. On Oct. 13, a resident of the 2000 block of Braeburn Lane, Evergreen, reported he found a wallet on his back porch. It held identification matching the description of a woman from a concurrent report that she was homeless and had overstayed her welcome at an acquaintance’s house. The woman contacted police for her wallet, which she said she had lost near Colorado 73 and Brooke Forest Road. She was arrested on an existing warrant in Englewood.
2 Liquor thief claims vendetta. Jeffco Sheriff’s deputies reported to Coconuts Wine and Liquor, 1153 Bergen Parkway, Evergreen,, where a woman concealed a bottle of vodka in a basket under a sweater and left when confronted. When deputies contacted the suspect, she accused the store of having a vendetta against her but would not say why. The store did not press charges due to the low value of the stolen item.
3 Rock thrown through window. A resident of the 10000 block of Wandcrest Drive, Pine Junction (not on map) reported Oct. 14 that someone threw a rick through his home’s window. He suspected a juvenile in the area but did not want to pursue charges.
4 Mailbox theft. Jeffco deputies responded to the area of Fox Ridge Road and Jefferson County 65, Evergreen, (not on map) Oct. 12, where two mail boxes were pried open and found empty. An area resident said she saw a vehicle parked near the mailboxes the day before and observed piles of newspapers in orange sleeves in the trunk. Two other mailboxes in the area showed signs of attempted burglary.
