Opening ski weekend
Copper Mountain’s opening weekend, Nov. 6-7, will feature events with pro athletes both days. On Nov. 6, opening day, the U.S. Alpine Ski Team will hold a pep rally to introduce the full team of Olympic hopefuls. Frisco fun run
Head up to Frisco for the Turkey Day 5K Fun Race at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 26. The event is open to all ages, and the course will wind through Frisco’s side streets and recreation paths. Racers can make a nonperishable food donation at the event to benefit the Family & Intercultural Resource Center of Summit County. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Frisco Elementary’s S.T.E.M. program. Registration is $15 for adults, $10 for youths 6-17, and children 5 and under are free. 800-424-1554 or /
