Light rain is expected Friday morning in the Denver metro area, but after a one-day cool-down, temperatures could hit 70 by Sunday afternoon.
“It’s going to be a beautiful weekend,” said Bernie Meier, meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Boulder.
Rain is expected to begin falling by around 9 a.m. in the Denver metro area on Friday, but it is expected to dry out by noon, Meier said.
A cool front will keep temperatures in the Denver area in the low to mid 50s through Friday.
But temperatures are expected to rise to the lower 60s on Halloween and reach 70 degrees before kickoff in Denver between the undefeated Denver Broncos and Green Bay Packers Sunday night, Meier said.
Thursday night and Friday morning, scattered snow showers fell in the mountains with most locations getting less than an inch of new snow, Meier said.
Rabbit Ears Pass got about 2 inches of new snow, Meier said. Another couple inches of snow could fall Friday morning in the mountains, he said.
It will dry out across Colorado, but mountain roads will still be wet and slick Friday afternoon, Meier said.
The next chance for a storm is next Thursday and Friday, he said.
