Getting your player ready...

C.J. Anderson had more on his mind than the Packers on Sunday.

He arrived at Sports Authority Field just hoping for a win and strong performance. But his thoughts were also with his late uncle, Andre Hicks, a man known to many as the rapper Mac Dre. On No. 1, 2004, Hicks was shot dead in Kansas City, where he was set to perform that night.

So after pushing his way into the end zone for a career-long 28-yard touchdown run in the third quarter of the Broncos’ 29-10 victory over the Packers, Anderson performed Hicks’ signature Thizzle Dance.

“I did that dance at Kansas City last year. He died in Kansas City performing — he got shot,” Anderson said. “I said if I got into the end zone I was going to tribute him, but I just wanted to go out there and play well tonight.”

with the 28-yard to put up 24-10.
