
Rent increases in Colorado remain above the national average, but the pace of those gains slowed in October, according to an Apartment List report released Tuesday.
Apartment rents increased 5.5 percent from October 2014, according to Apartment List’s latest . Nationally, rents were up 3.2 percent over that same period.
That’s a drop from September, when rents had increased 6.2 percent over the previous year.
Boulder was the state’s priciest city for apartment-dwellers, with a median rent of $2,000 for a two-bedroom unit. Boulder’s rents have grown nearly 3 percent during the past year.
The largest month-over-month rent increase was in the Sherrelwood community in Adams County, which saw a jump of 17 percent. The median rent for a two-bedroom apartment in Sherrelwood was $1,310, making it the 10th-most-expensive in the state.
Denver’s median rents clocked in at $1,110 for a one-bedroom unit and $1,500 for a two-bedroom unit, representing year-over-year gains of 6.2 percent and 5.6 percent.
