Friday-Saturday. The Denver Improv Festival, which is put on by the nonprofit GroupMind Foundation, has always been a bit of a hard sell for general audiences — at least compared with the city’s numerous, easily accessible stand-up showcases. But organizers of this weekend’s event, which includes performances and workshops at Bovine Metropolis Theater, Voodoo Comedy Playhouse, the Newman Center and Jones Theatre at the Denver Performing Arts Complex, might argue that improvisational comedy’s unpredictable nature is the real draw here. This year’s event features recent “Saturday Night Live” alum Paul Brittain, right, as well as Tim Baltz (Comedy Central’s “Drunk History”), Punam Patel (ABC Family’s “Kevin from Work”) and others. The fest offers three or four shows each of the two nights ($10-$25) and six workshops Saturday ($50). .
