The Colorado Child Protection Ombudsman Board announced Thursday five finalists for the new .
The ombudsman will be appointed no later than Dec. 1 and assume duties Jan. 1.
Besides Dennis Goodwin, who currently holds the position, the other finalists, in alphabetical order, are:
• William Betts, associate director for Mental Health at the Kempe Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Abuse and Neglect.
• Amy Hendrickson, former deputy district attorney, Jefferson County district attorney’s office, child and family investigations.
• Claudia Ponce Joly, owner of CAP Consultation Services Inc., a public service consulting firm.
• Stephanie Villafuerte, executive director of the nonprofit Rocky Mountain Children’s Law Center.
The board will conduct interviews with the finalists at a publicly scheduled meeting starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Ralph L. Carr Judicial Building, 1300 Broadway, Denver.
The board welcomes public comment on the finalists in writing. Submit comments no later than close of business Nov. 19 to Terry Scanlon at terry.scanlon@judicial.state.co.us.
