Indianapolis’ . and Denver’s Factotum Brewhouse have collaborated on a Peyton Manning-themed beer named Oatmaha that will be unveiled before Sunday’s Week 9 matchup between the Broncos and Colts.
According to , which was careful to avoid using Manning’s names for legal reasons:
“The beer will be a representation of the athlete and his career. The brewers know from that said athlete enjoys light, domestic lagers so, to keep in accordance with his palate, this collaborative beer will be a light and easy-drinking pale ale — but with a few twists.
Laura Bruns, co-owner of Factotum, says, “We had always thought it would be fun to do a beer like this with ingredients from all the places he’s played football: New Orleans, Knoxville, Indy, and Denver.” While no breweries from Louisiana or Tennessee replied to Factotum’s invitation to collaborate, Tow Yard, the brewery closest to Lucas Oil Stadium and host venue for the Blue Crew, did respond.”
Following the over the Chargers in 2014, Manning was asked if retirement was weighing on his mind.
“It’s really not,” . “What’s really weighing on my mind is how soon I can get a Bud Light in my mouth after this win.”
The “Oatmaha” beer, an homage to Manning’s famous “Omaha” audible, will be available at both breweries’ taprooms as well as at next year’s in Denver.
Factotum will visit Tow Yard on Saturday, the day before the Broncos take on the Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium, to brew the batch that will be served in Indianapolis. And brewers from Tow Yard will visit Denver early next year make the batch for the Collaboration Fest, held March 19 at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
