Airplane passengers at Denver International Airport can expect short flight delays during deicing of planes because of the snow and cold temperatures, officials say.
Deicing takes an average of about 16 minutes extra in flight preparation, said Heath Montgomery, DIA spokesman.
Plows were out early to clear mostly slushy snow off the runways.
No delays or cancellations have been reported Thursday linked to runway conditions, Montgomery said.
“The runways are wet but clear,” he said.
An inch of new snow was measured at DIA, the first measurable snow of the season.
