
Students from the University of Colorado Denver are holding a demonstration Thursday to show solidarity with University of Missouri students.
The rally will be held at noon at the Tivoli Student Union, according to the .
The page features a message to “Students of color at Mizzou: “We see your courage, your boldness. We see your strength. We applaud you for your fervor and resolve. We at the University of Colorado-Denver want you to know that we stand with you and that you are not alone. Your actions have prompted a nationwide reaction that has encouraged students of color to demand more from our institutions. You are trailblazers. Continue to stand strong when faced with adversity.”
Racial tensions have been high at the University of Missouri and attracted national attention after at least 30 black football players at the university said they would not play until the school’s president Tim Wolfe resigned over his unresponsiveness to the issues, according to the .
Wolfe did resign, but conflict escalated even further after someone posted threats to shoot black students and faculty on a location-based anonymous messaging app near the school.
A college student at a sister campus in Rolla, 19-year-old with making a terrorist threat in connection with the online posts.
Students attending the Denver rally are encouraged to wear all black, if possible. The event is expected to last no more than an hour.
