On the Broncos’ second offensive series in their loss to Kansas City on Sunday, Peyton Manning became the NFL’s all-time passing yards leader with a four-yard toss to Ronnie Hillman.

Brett Favre’s 71,838 regular-season yards was bumped to No. 2. Manning’s now 71,871 yards leads.

It’s certainly not the first record Manning has broken of Favre’s and it may not be the last.

On Sunday, Favre sent his congratulations to Manning that seemed fitting of Favre — and the awkwardness of the celebration and game as a whole.

“Peyton, I’m in a tree stand,” Favre said. “Yeah, you’ve interrupted me again. Man, I’m very happy for you. Congrats. But now you have to take them all away. Good luck, man. You’re the best.”
