The snowstorm that moved through the metro area overnight continued to cause problems for eastern and southeastern Colorado late Tuesday.

The Colorado Department of Transportation reported at 8 p.m. that Interstate 70 was closed between Limon and the Kansas border and that all accommodations in Burlington were filled.

The Red Cross said it has opened a shelter for travelers at the Burlington Community Center.

Interstate 25 south of Walsenburg was also closed most of the night, but reopened shortly before 10 p.m.

Most highways in the southeastern part of the state, including U.S. 50 and U.S. 287 in the Lamar area.
