Steamboat Resort will open its slopes on Saturday ahead of schedule, the ski area announced Tuesday.
“Let’s do something we haven’t done since 2002,” the resort said in a tweet.
Steamboat was Thanksgiving day.
The resort received more than 10 inches of snow in some areas with this week’s storm.
Winter Park Resort will open on Wednesday, as planned, and ski area operators there say there will be two lifts running and 10 runs.
“With a fresh 10 inches from Mother Nature in the last 24 hours, Winter Park Resort is poised to start the 2015/16 ski season tomorrow in stellar fashion,” the resort said in a news release.
