Friday and Saturday. The Stratus Chamber Orchestra has been having great fun this year celebrating the big anniversaries of large, classical works. Last month, it saluted Sibelius as he (would have) turned 150. This month, it marks the 150th anniversary of a particularly popular piece of music: Schubert’s “Unfinished Symphony.” The Austrian composer, above, is said to have started his eighth symphony in 1822 and completed only two movements by the time he died in 1828. It’s a mystery as to why he abandoned what is arguably his most proficient work since he went on to write other compositions in the meantime. 7:30 p.m. Friday, Loft Studio, Ellie Caulkins Opera House, and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Augustana Lutheran Church, 5000 E. Alameda Ave. $10-$25. 303-388-4962. or .
