Colorado’s teacher policies received an average grade of C, according to a biennial national report released Tuesday.

The published by the National Council on Teacher Quality, a nonprofit research and advocacy group.

The report looks at each state’s laws and regulations affecting the preparation, retention and evaluation of teachers.

Colorado’s score is a slight drop from the C-plus in 2013 and the same as the C in 2011.

The area of lowest scores for Colorado remains in preparing teachers.

Colorado’s licencing requirements and college admission policies are not linked to academic requirements.
