Re: “Denver aims to cut carbon emissions 80 percent by 2050,” Dec. 3 news story.
I applaud Mayor Michael Hancock in trying to deal with climate change and looking at the polluting industries that affect Denver. What is unfortunate is his lack of dealing with methane gas pollution from fracking sites in and near Denver.
Denver Mayor Michael Hancock. (Kathryn Scott Osler, The Denver Post)
I hope this is not because he might gain from fracking or that the governor, who is fracking’s buddy, is not allowing this poison to be addressed.
Let us hope that with the Paris climate summit and all the knowledge that is out there about fracking, Hancock will recognize that this is another area that needs to be addressed as well as banned from Denver.
