Sen. Cory Gardner, R-Colo., recently voted against universal background checks on the purchase of guns. Gardner has no problem with someone’s ability to buy guns, even though their name is on a no-fly list. This is a list of suspected terrorists. Even Republican John McCain tried to convince his fellow senators to vote “no,” but Gardner would not listen. Vote him out of office the next chance you get.

So anyone who is paranoid schizophrenic or a radicalized terrorist with hatred in their heart can go to a gun show and buy an assault weapon without having a background check. This is insanity. In my mind, the NRA has blood on its hands.

Fact: There is already a background check system in place for gun purchases. The attempt to expand these to private sales is folly in that there is no way to enforce it.
Fact: There are already laws prohibiting people under 21 from buying handguns.
Fact: California is another politically blue area that already has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country in place. They didn’t stop the San Bernardino shooters, did they?
In fact, places like Chicago and Washington, D.C., possess the harshest gun laws in the land and the highest gun violence rates. Tell us again how gun control would prevent another San Bernardino type of event. I’ll wait.
