A drone is demonstrated in Brigham City, Utah. The Federal Aviation Administration announced Dec. 14, that owners of many small drones and model airplanes will have to register them with the government, in response to increasing reports of drones flying near manned aircraft and airports. (Rick Bowmer, Associated Press file)
So the Federal Aviation Administration is requiring drone owners to register their toys by February 2016 because of many “close calls.” Three years after the Sandy Hook massacre, and tens of thousands of gun deaths later, Congress won’t pass universal background checks or restrict those on the no-fly list from purchasing guns because of a perceived infringement of rights. We live in interesting times.
