-
QB Dylan McCaffrey, Valor Christian, Jr.
Hasn’t thrown an interception since October and will enter next season among the best nationally at his position. -
RB Hayden Blubaugh, Grandview, Jr.
Came over from Smoky Hill and promptly became a star by rushing for 2,386 yards and 28 touchdowns. -
RB Cameron Gonzales, Pomona, Jr.
Durable ball carrier piled up 1,458 yards rushing and 29 touchdowns on a fun run to the Class 5A championship game. -
RB Mikey Griebel, Columbine, Jr.
Nearly led the Rebels to the 5A title game undefeated; rushed and received for 1,924 yards and 30 touchdowns. -
RB Marcus McElroy, Mullen, Jr.
A bruiser who compiled 1,430 yards and 21 touchdowns and came out of the backfield for 21 catches and four more TDs. -
WR Ben Waters, Valor Christian, Sr.
Grabbed 59 passes for 1,033 yards and 16 TDs against the best in the state, and distinguished himself as our top catcher. -
TE Jack Stoll, Regis Jesuit, Sr.
Nebraska pledge was a pillar on the perimeter and caught 32 passes for 434 yards and six touchdowns. -
Ath. Matt Lynch, Legacy, Sr.
Key question: How many area quarterbacks head to UCLA? Answer: Not many. Lynch will enroll there in January. -
Ath. Daniel Martin, Pueblo East, Sr.
Rushed and passed for 3,097 yards and 41 TDs; probably why he’s being called Pueblo’s best player since Kory Sperry. -
Ret. Max Borghi, Pomona, So.
Possibly the state’s fastest football player in 2015, a rusher and receiver who also was a threat as a returner. -
OL J.T. Gentry, Columbine, Sr.
The Rebels are a running bunch, and guess who was at the front of this year’s group? -
OL Robert Moss, Grandview, Jr.
Centennial League coaches loved his versatility and toughness; he didn’t play like a junior. -
OL Jake Moretti, Pomona, Jr.
Think about this: He gave a verbal commitment to Ohio State before playing a down as a junior. -
OL Dillon Reinkensmeyer, Valor Christian, Sr.
Virginia-bound tackle dabbled in going both ways before settling in as a pillar on offense. -
OL Terriek Roberts, Denver South, Sr.
A solid prospect out of the Denver Prep League who’s bound for the Colorado Buffaloes. We don’t get many. -
K Cooper Rothe, Longmont, Sr.
Also a top defensive back, Rothe is headed to Wyoming to be the Cowboys’ kicker. -
DL Noah Elliss, Valor Christian, Jr.
Defines the word “load” and turned into an immovable object as the season evolved. -
DL Ace Escobedo, Regis Jesuit, Sr.
Obviously, he’s quite smart — he will play for the Penn Quakers next season, and they play at Philly’s historic Franklin Field. -
DL David Imola, Cherry Creek Sr.
A two-time selection, Imola’s interior work was considerable and frequently occurred against the state’s best. -
DL Elijah Leyva, Pomona, Sr.
Coach Jay Madden called Leyva his team’s top Division I-caliber player in 2015. Opponents are glad he’s moving on. -
DL Toby McBride, Fort Morgan, Sr.
Headed to Colorado State; the Class 3A Mustangs enjoyed his toughness and versatility. A bigger player with skill. -
DL Jonathan Van Diest, Cherry Creek, Jr.
Suffered a broken arm on the first play of the state semifinals against Valor Christian. The Bruins missed him. -
LB Carlo Kemp, Fairview, Sr.
Headed to Michigan in early January, when he hopes to begin competing for a regular spot on the Wolverines’ defense.

-
LB Santino Marchiol, Cherry Creek, Jr.
The offers already have started piling up for this 11th-grader, who has a chance to be the state’s top defender in 2016. -
LB Brandon Micale, Pomona, Jr.
A terrific rusher who regularly made it into the opponent’s backfield; one of 16 Panthers starters returning in 2016. -
LB Deandre Shorts, Grandview, Sr.
Coach John Schultz said opposing coaches are relieved this blitzer is a senior and will be graduating. -
LB Corte Tapia, Windsor, Jr.
Set the state’s sack record and was at the front of a Class 4A title team. Probably could play for any program. -
DB Javier Craft, Cherry Creek, Sr.
A legitimate cover man who gave the Bruins leeway in the secondary to offer different packages. -
DB JoJo Domann, Pine Creek, Sr.
Nebraska commitment whose skill, versatility and leadership were considerable. -
DB Alijah Halliburton, Overland, Sr.
A Wyoming pledge whose overall athleticism was noted by everyone who saw
him in action. -
P Michael Pavlakovich, Regis Jesuit, Sr.
Also the Raiders’ quarterback, he averaged 40.6 yards per punt with good hang time and placement. -
Coach Rod Sherman, Valor Christian
Over three years his Eagles are 35-7 — including 14-1 in the playoffs, with two
5A state titles and a runner-up finish.
