Downtown Breckenridge, Colo. and Breckenridge Ski resort. (Carl Scofield, The Associated Press)

Re: “Vail Resorts asks employees to share rooms to ease housing crunch,” Dec. 17 news story.

Regarding lack of affordable housing at ski resorts, why not build dormitories? Their architecture could be in keeping with the surrounding buildings. Have a deli where workers could get salads, soups, sandwiches and sweets. Have it open to the public at large. All of this would help the resorts, and the workers could live where they work.
