CLEVELAND AT DENVER
When: 7 p.m. Tuesday
TV: ALT
Radio: 950 AM
Spotlight on LeBron James:
The NBA’s King has his full court back, at least most of the time. The recent return of point guard Kyrie Irving from a fractured kneecap made Cleveland’s Big Three — James, Irving and Kevin Love — whole again. Irving is not expected to play Tuesday night as he sits out the second of back-to-back sets. James has played his typically high-level basketball this season, and on the eve of his only appearance in Denver this season, he passed Nuggets legend Alex English for 17th place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.
NOTEBOOK
Nuggets:
Denver took Monday off after completing a back-to-back set with a loss Sunday at Oklahoma City. … Aside from the usual four — Danilo Gallinari, Emmanuel Mudiay, Jusuf Nurkic and Wilson Chandler — the Nuggets are expected to have everyone available against the Cavaliers. The Nuggets have lost two consecutive home games to the Cavaliers. They haven’t beaten Cleveland in Denver since Jan. 11, 2013. The Nuggets are just 5-9 at the Pepsi Center this season.
Cavaliers:
Cleveland is wrapping up a Western Conference road trip that includes four games in five nights. That trip started with losses at Golden State and Portland before Monday’s game at Phoenix. These Cavs have leaned on defense to rise to the top of the Eastern Conference. Going into Monday’s game, Cleveland allowed the third-lowest scoring average in the NBA at 95.3 points per game, including an league-best 22.1 points allowed in the fourth quarter.
