ASPEN — Guests at an Aspen condominium complex received a rude awakening early Wednesday morning when a half-naked man began screaming for help from the roof, police said.
A woman on the second floor of the Roaring Fork Chateau called police at 5:47 a.m. and said the man had been screaming for about 10 minutes, which “woke up pretty much the entire complex,” said Aspen police officer Seth DelGrasso, who responded.
Guests staying in a third floor condo unit allowed the man to climb down a roof-access ladder located in their closet, he said. When police arrived, they found a 34-year-old Australian man clad only in a swimsuit sitting in one of the units, DelGrasso said. The man said he’d been drinking and partying earlier with friends at a hot tub on the hotel’s ground floor.
“The next thing he knew he was up on the roof and didn’t know how he got there,” DelGrasso said.
The temperature in Aspen was 8 degrees at 6 a.m., according to the Accuweather website.
