The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a suspect they believe to be involved in two suspicious fires on Friday afternoon.
The first fire happened in the 7400 block of East Iliff Avenue when a box truck was set aflame around 1:15 p.m., said sheriff’s spokeswoman Julie Brooks.
The second fire took place at 8000 East Iliff Avenue when a trailer caught fire around 3 p.m., Brooks said.
No one was injured in either of the blazes.
“In 27 degree weather, cars don’t just catch fire,” Brooks said. “That and the fact that these happened close together is suspicious.”
Video footage taken near the fires provided authorities with a few still photos of a possible suspect in both of the fires.
“They do appear to be connected, but they are still under investigation,” Brooks said.
