Jarome Iginla joined an elite group Monday night.
The Avs forward scored his 600th career goal late midway through the third period against the Kings. On a power play, Iginla looked to make a pass in front of the net that deflected off Kings defenseman Jake Muzzin to give Colorado a 4-1 lead.
“That was a lucky play,” . “(Tyson Barrie) gave it to me. I was trying to walk in and see what would open up down low, and (Gabe Landeskog) was right in front, I think battling with Muzzin in front, and I was trying to put something in there for him through the screen for him.”
Iginla is the 19th player in NHL history to score 600 goals in his career. The group includes former Avs Joe Sakic, Teemu Selanne and Jari Kurri.
